Oral
Health Educator
Lisa is our Oral health Educator, whose role is to help
prevent and control dental disease.
She is a qualified dental nurse who has been with the practice
for over eight years and has attained her Dental Nurses Certificate
in Oral Health Education.
Lisa regularly visits schools and other groups promoting dental
health as well as running clinics in our Preventive Dental Unit. |
What
sort of problems can be helped? Gum disease, tooth decay,
orthodontic wear, sensitivity, denture care problems
Who can be seen? Children, Adolescents, Adults, The Elderly,
Patients with special needs, Pregnant and new mums
What are the benefits? Educate patients in a non-threatening
environment, helping them to improve their oral health. |

Dental Hygienist
Dental Hygienists are specially
trained to work alongside dentists. The hygienists training
is centered on the prevention of disease, therefore they play
an important role in dental health especially gum health.
The hygienist will professionally clean teeth and root surfaces
to remove the bacteria and calculus that cause gum disease.
They will educate patients in the best way to keep teeth plaque
free and gums healthy. Hygienists will also recommend other
preventive measures to reduce decay and dental sensitivity.
