On 28th February Ian attended the Royal College of Surgeons for his graduation, and was officially awarded his Diploma from the Dean of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners.

Ian is the first dentist in the Southwest Peninsula to be awarded the Diploma which involves a minimum of two years post-graduate study based in London, Frankfurt and Tubingen. Thirty-six dentists started the course in January 2007, but only eight successfully graduated in February 2009. Ian was one of three successful candidates from England, with the other graduates based in Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Denmark
